The genus Aphthovirus consists of four species Bovine rhinitis A virus, Bovine rhinitis B virus, Equine rhinitis A virus and Foot-and-mouth disease virus. Thus all three bovine rhinoviruses serotypes (previously classified as tentative members of the now defunct genus Rhinovirus) are now classified in the genus Aphthovirus.
