A hepatovirus has been described in Himalayan marmots also known as woodchucks (Marmota himalayana) (Yu et al., 2016). The sequences of this virus shows it to fall amongst the recently described hepatoviruses of seals (Anthony et al., 2015) and small mammals (Drexler et al., 2015; Ng et al., unpublished) along with hepatitis A virus.
